Connectivity's the name of the Web game. If you're in the mood to surf, here's a few of my favorite waves.

Links to Pages about Writing and Publishing

The Authors Guild is a powerful professional organization that has fought and won many important battles on behalf of writers. Their webpages contain a lot of useful information for new writers as well as established.

New writers often write and ask me about agents: how to get one, what they do, and so on. My own agent at the Larsen-Pomada Agency has put up a home page answering these and other questions at some length.

All three of my English-language publishers are online now: HarperCollinsPublishers, Bantam/Doubleday/Dell, and Tor Books. You will notice that putting spaces between the components of names is going out of fashion in the world of books, but these pages have some interesting material on them anyway.

If you don't know Jo Clayton's work, you might want to check out the Jo Clayton's Official Home Page, which is maintained by D'Arcy, better known in the online world as Javanne. Jo's writing is too good to be missed if you've not had the pleasure of reading some of it.

Sites for Women

The Internet's no boy toy anymore. Don't believe me? Try Women's Wire and the Women's Web to see for yourself.

Eating disorders, whether bulimia, anorexia, or compulsive overeating, kill people. Unfortunately, thanks in part to our culture's crazy cult of the boy-thin woman, these disorders are on the rise in America and are spreading to other countries as well. Two professors in the University of California system have opened an innovative site to raise public awareness about these illnesses.

Fun Stuff

Kate Elliott has a nifty webzine, The Swan, devoted to fantasy as distinct from science fiction. The name refers to the story of the "Ugly Duckling," who grew up to be a swan, just as fantasy has grown up and changed over the years. Check out what's already there!

. . . and here is the ultimate Zorak website!
